Esteemed designer Tom Stringer , founder of Chicago-based Tom Stringer Design Partners, will discuss his book An Adventurous Life with Laura Hine, Editor-in-Chief of Interiors Chicago Magazine. Tom and Laura will converse about how Tom uses magical discoveries made on his global travels to create the special living environments that are true to his clients’ own personalities and passions. Tom describes the design process as a voyage of discovering the distinctive narrative of each client and home, connecting them with a sense of wonder and the communal spirit of their space. Stringer’s unique approach to visual storytelling is encapsulated in the interiors of the residential projects highlighted in his book. Tom will sign copies of the book after the presentation. Aperitifs and light bites and will be served.
Tom Stringer founded his eponymous multi-disciplinary firm, headquartered on Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, more than 20 years ago to conceive and deliver unique design solutions for residences, restaurants, and yachts around the globe. With the same energy that inspires his own love of travel and collecting, Stringer and his creative team bring this rigorous planning, enthusiasm and joy of discovery to the comfortably glamorous homes they create. For the past five years, Laura Hine was editor-in-chief at NS magazine, which covers the North Shore from Evanston to Lake Bluff. After she and her husband moved from Wilmette to the city, she took over Interiors Chicago, which is also published by Modern Luxury. Her new position takes advantage of her long-standing interest in design, real estate and architecture.
The Book Stall will have copies of An Adventurous Life on hand, and Mr. Stringer will be happy to sign copies of his work.
