We are thrilled to welcome children's book author and illustrator Jan Brett to the store for a drawing demonstration and book-signing in celebration of her new picture book, The Snowy Nap! In addition to meeting Jan, you'll be able snap your photo in front of The Snowy Nap Tour Bus, and meet Hedgie the Hedgehog! The first 100 families in line will also get a signed poster! To reserve your place in the signing line, please purchase a copy of The Snowy Nap from The Book Stall starting on Saturday, Oct. 27th.
Please purchase a copy of The Snowy Nap from The Book Stall if you intend on entering the book-signing line. Do you already own some well-loved copies of Jan's previous books? Due to the large crowd expected, we ask that you limit yourself to one book brought from home. She'll be happy to sign multiple copies of The Snowy Nap, and we'll have her previous titles available for purchase as well.
Please arrive early if you want to see the drawing demonstration. After Jan shows us how she draws, we'll line the crowd up by signing group letter, but your signing group letter does not guarantee you'll see the demonstartion--our event space can only hold so many! (A group letter G person, for example, would be in the signing line after the F group, but an A group person who arrives at 4:10 may not be able to get into our event space to witness the drawing demonstration, even though they'd be in the first group allowed into the book-signing line.)
Can't make it to the event? Give us a call at 847-446-8880 and we are happy to reserve a signed copy for you. In the event that Jan is not able to sign all of our books due to time constraints, she will leave us with gorgeous signed bookplates designed by Jan and featuring her artwork.
Questions? Give us a call at 847-446-8880, or email email@example.com.
About The Snowy Nap:
Snow is on the way, and as Hedgie trundles around the farm all his friends tell him of the winter-time fun he will miss as he hibernates--Icicles decorating the chicken coop! Lisa making snowmen! The pond turned to slippery ice! It sounds so amazing, Hedgie decides to stay awake instead of going to his burrow. But then a snowstorm starts. Luckily, Lisa finds him and brings him inside so Hedgie gets to see the wonders of winter from inside the cozy house.
With more than 34 million books in print, Jan Brett is one of the nation's foremost illustrators of children's books. As a child, she decided to be an illustrator and spent much of her time reading and drawing. As a student at the Boston Museum School, Jan spent many hours in the Museum of Fine Arts. With her husband, Joe Hearne, who is a member of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Jan visits many different countries where she researches the architecture and costumes that appear in her work. Jan lives in a seacoast town in Massachusetts.
When winter comes, Hedgie tries to stay awake so he doesn't miss out on all the fun his friends are having.
