Chris Raschka: Artist Talk and Book Signing
The Hendrickson Room at Arlington Heights Memorial Library
Enjoy an evening with the library's artist-in-residence, acclaimed author and illustrator Chris Raschka. Chris will share an overview of his 25 years of making books for children. Learn how this boy born in Pennsylvania and raised in suburban Chicago, who learned music and enrolled in medical school before writing his first book, went on to achieve great acclaim with Charlie Parker Played Be Bop, published in 1992, garnered a Caldecott Honor for Yo? Yes! in 1994, and went on to create a prolific 60 children’s books. A book signing will follow.
This event is presented in conjunction with Bravo! Chris Raschka, an art exhibit from the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, on display in the Library's Marketplace from June 4 through August 12. Visit ahml.info/summer for more.
The event is free, but registration is requested--please register here.
